Sunday from 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

WBBZ Air Personality...Mike Butt - You may not know that one of the voices you listen to each weekend on WBBZ radio is that of Mike "Sudsy" Butt. Yes, Mr. Sudsy Duck whose nickname comes from his past remote broadcasts (complete with costume) has been a radio personality since 1966. Mike currently works Saturday from 11am-5pm and Sunday from 7am-3pm keeping the world singing along as well as updates on the weather, sports, and local events. Mike is the employee having served the longest period of time (24 years) at WBBZ. Unlike most of us, Mike set goals early in life. He determined to become a broadcaster when he was only a child of 6 while tagging along with his uncle Pat Tobin who worked at WBBZ in the early 50's He recalls the days when radio involved the playing of records on turntables as well as running reel-to-reel tapes. He has worked in Oklahoma City, Ponca City and Blackwell in Oklahoma as well as Arkansas City, Kansas during the course of his broadcasting career stating he simply enjoys talking into the microphone. As Mike says "I just love my paid hobby".

Mike married Theresa 27 years ago. Their family includes 5 daughters, Martha, Megan, Elizabeth, Emily and Angela ranging in age from 26 to 6 years of age. Mike and Theresa are also proud of their 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 4 years to 7 months of age.

When Mike is not on the radio or with his family, he works at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Ponca City in the Environmental Services Department. He has served the hospital for 29 years. Mike can even remember the days when wages were $2.10/hr!

Why not take a moment and Say Hello To Mike?
